Getting around
- Rent a bicycle from one of the shops near West Street for a cheap daily rate and ride out to the Yulong River on your own. The guided bamboo raft packages sold on the street charge much more for the same scenery you can reach for free on two wheels.
- The bus from Guilin bus station to Yangshuo costs very little and takes about 90 minutes. The famous Li River cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo costs many times more and drops you at the same town.
- Moon Hill (Yueliang Shan) charges a small gate fee, but arriving before 8 a.m. means almost no crowds and a clear view from the top arch. Mid-morning on a weekend, the path up gets slow.
