Getting around
- Metro Line 9 runs to Qinlingxi station, where bus 617 finishes the trip to the Terracotta Warriors. Skip the overpriced tour buses that tout near Xi'an Railway Station and take the metro-plus-bus route instead. It is cheaper and reliable.
- Rent a bike at the South Gate (Yongning Men) and ride the top of the city wall. The full loop is about 14 km. Go early morning before the tour groups arrive.
- Biangbiang noodles cost roughly half as much at a small counter inside the Muslim Quarter compared to the tourist-facing stalls along the main Huimin Jie strip. Same noodles, half the price, better atmosphere.
