  • Tortas ahogadas at Mercado Libertad (San Juan de Dios) run very cheap. The same sandwich near Avenida Chapultepec costs two to three times more.
  • If you're arriving in late October or November, book at least three weeks out. Día de Muertos events fill the city and hostels in Colonia Americana go first.
