Calle Larga has the densest cluster of hostels, most within a five-minute walk of Parque Calderón and the Tomebamba River. El Barranco, the hillside strip between Calle Larga and the river, is slightly quieter and puts you close to both the nightlife and the Pumapungo ruins.
Getting around
- The set almuerzo at Mercado 10 de Agosto on Calle Mariano Cueva runs just a couple of dollars for soup, a main, and juice. It stops around 2pm, so go early.
